So the incredibly incompetent former President, Jimmy Carter, has once again stuck his nose into foreign affairs when he ought to stick with writing books no one wants to read (except maybe Nancy Pelosi). This time, he went to the Middle East to have talks with Hamas representatives.
You had a nice chat, didn’t you, Mr. Carter?
While you were doing so, Hamas was planning a terrorist attack which they carried out on Saturday, the same day you were meeting with their representatives in Damascus.
Hamas made you look like a complete fool (not that you needed any help), and you have shown yourself to be a disgrace by supporting terrorism and terrorists. Why don’t you do all of us a favor and stay in the Middle East from now on and not bother coming back to America?
I would be laughing if the loss of lives weren’t saddening. Democrats, you are showing Americans that you support terrorists with your continued support of foolish people like Carter and Pelosi. Peace talks…what a cover for planning terrorist attacks, eh Mr. Carter?
If Carter goes to Russia to talk about missile shields, you better find a nuclear blast shelter quick…

Just when I said I should stop blogging about political things, I read yet another political development that upset me enough to want to blog about it.
President Bush is holding the possibility of recalling Congress in the event they don’t pass new legislation that his administration feels is necessary to close gaps in intelligence. The legislation he wants has to do with eavesdropping on foreigners.
We don’t need this proposed legislation, simply put. Even though the administration says it ideally should be designed so that it doesn’t allow a focus on communications to and from Americans, it does not want a review of any envisioned law before hand. Bush and his cronies simply want to pass it and then allow limited review of the process rather than on a case by case basis, which is really unacceptable.
Part of our problem in America is that we keep passing laws that give too sweeping and broad powers to a government that is not really accountable to ‘We the People’ anymore. This legislation that Bush wants will go hand in hand with his recent destruction of the 5th Amendment to destroy more personal freedoms for Americans, seize their property, and to subvert the judicial system (pathetic as it is already) further…

The recent split of the Palestinian government could be the best thing to happen as far as developments between Israelis and Palestinians are concerned. A bit of smart politics and some long term vision could turn take this conflict from a seemingly endless middle-game to the end-game.
How? Well, divide and conquer does not always mean to imply that conquering must be done with fighting. As Sun Tzu put it, the best general isn’t the one who wins 100 fights, but the one who is successful in defeating his enemy 100 times without having to fight…

You know, I’ve cut Islam and related sects a lot of slack for those who are not radicals. No more. It is not even worth the bother, because they are a minority in the extreme. The evidence has always been that Islam is a religion of violence (and the Yazidi are little better).
I am tired of making excuses for those few who claim to be peaceful but never bother to take up arms against their fellow Muslims/Yazidi/whatever radical religion to force them to comply with civilized law. You want to be considered civilized, then you have to act civilized—and that means enforcing civilized law even if by force, and even if you must use said force against those of your own family, faith, race, etc.
More importantly, you don’t stone women to death because you don’t get your way.
Here, take a look at a peaceful religion in all its peaceful glory: a stoning of a young woman while dozens of men stand around and film it on their cellphones.

It is enough to make one consider a Guinness at 5AM in the morning, but I managed to make it past 7AM and have stuck with coffee. What the hell am I talking about? Exactly.
As a veteran, I am as staunch a supporter on the need to fight terrorism and those who support it on a global scale as you will likely find. National Defense is a big issue with me, and I consider myself far more ‘hawkish’ than any American politician of the Republican party. [Note: which is why I will no longer vote Republican, for they have shown themselves to be uncaring about securing our nation's borders or winning our wars.] I would rather live in a Spartan nation than a nation full of whining me-me-me-all-I-care-about-is-me liberals any day.
If you have read my blog in the past, you are likely to know I think ‘just warfare’ is a doctrine for weakling nations.
I have to wonder, however, at the bumbling ineptitude of both our political and military leaders throughout the global alliance that is fighting what was previously called The War On Terror. To reflect the reality of how it is being waged, I thought it appropriate to give it a more accurately descriptive name…

I usually shake my head in disgust and shrug my shoulders whenever I hear of the many ridiculous things the UN does. Here is yet another example of the UN espousing anti-semitic views. I wanted to point it out to all those who think the UN is unbiased on the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

A few things that happened in the Middle East recently seem to have gone virtually unnoticed by mainstream media. That itself is not surprising. Mainstream media often misses many stories. But these were big stories, going back to Thursday the 15th.
Palestinians are an industrious people. At least the bad elements have shown they are. There are simply more incidents of violence and murder than I have time to list that have happened in the last few days…

Israel will be webcasting their recent construction project that is causing so much stir in Jerusalem, according to the BBC. I never cease to be amazed at what causes public outcry in the Muslim world.
Muslims around the world are angry about a construction project, but do little to condemn violence and racism by groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood and others. Yet, when Israelis undertake a construction project in the vicinity of a mosque, it’s cause for outrage? Give me a break.
Muslims everywhere are suggesting Israel wants to make Jerusalem a Jewish city. Part of me thinks it is largely because Muslims fear that Israelis have plans to excavate under the Al-Aqsa mosque in order to find Solomon’s Temple that is rumored to be buried there or under the Temple Mount…

Israel has released many Palestinian prisoners in hopes that they would give up their ways.
And yet, they don’t. They go back to fueling more violence…
Last spring, Yemen released about 600 radical Shia insurgents from prison as a gesture of goodwill.
Today, the country is facing another Shia insurgency. At a critical time when foreign investors are looking hard at the country, things aren’t going well. Yemeni forces have had more than 80 soldiers wounded and more than 40 killed in recent fighting with these same freed radicals.

I happened across an article in which it is mentioned that there are a lot of young Iranians that don’t support Ahmadinejad, but would rally around the regime if attacked.
What’s really news about that?
One young person interviewed says Americans see things black and white, that our view of Iran is too simple:
“It’s a very black-and-white, a very simplistic view,”
— Shahryar Eivazzadeh
(Source: Yahoo! News via Associated Press)
Guess what Shahryar? It is a very simplistic issue. You either support your government or you don’t.
If you do, you are in the same boat as your racist, ridiculous and radical terrorist sponsoring president.
