Feinstein Amnesty Bill May Be Voted On This Friday! Contact Your Senator!

Senator Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat from California, is trying to have an amnesty attachment added to the Iraq supplemental appropriations spending bill–and calling it the Emergency Agriculture Relief Act of 2008. Just who is getting relief from offering amnesty to illegal aliens? Cheapskates and cheap labor barons, that’s who.

She wants to give legal status to illegal immigrants by granting 5 year visas to some 1.35 million illegal aliens!

According to Steve Elliot of Grassfire.org, it is her revisiting a past failure to push her amnesty agenda.

“Tentatively called the Emergency Agriculture Relief Act of 2008, this is a slight-of-hand, scaled-down version of Feinstein’s AgJobs amnesty bill that she had previously introduced.”

That was from today’s alert email he sent out. Considering the one yesterday (whose headlines I also read myself), do we want this nonsense to continue?

Scanning the headlines this morning sickened me.

In Virginia (my home state), an illegal alien raped a 4 year-old child.

In Tennessee, a suspected illegal alien raped a 15 year-old girl just hours after his release from prison.

Another raped and impregnated a 9 year-old child. It has been widely reported that she has just given birth!

390 illegals were arrested following a raid of a meat-packing plant in Postville, Iowa.

I urge my fellow Oklahomans to contact your Senators and tell them we are tired of our political leaders trying to give our nation away.

Bush Administration Fails Again, This Time With Lebanon

Once again a Bush administration has dropped the ball on a critical issue in the Middle East despite its claims that the War on Terror is sooooooooo ever-loving important. We have a US backed government in Lebanon that found itself being overrun by Hezbollah—a terrorist organization—and we sat by doing absolutely nothing worthwhile. Why?

Here was a perfect opportunity to build support and target Hezbollah and their allies, a perfect opportunity to confront terrorism…and we do nothing aside from some feeble diplomatic whining? I can think of any number of strategies that would be better than the do nothing approach of the Bush administration.

I’m sure the administration is just waiting on some buzzword-filled strategy dreamed up by some think-tank employee taking a crap (which, ironically, is what any such strategy usually ends up being) or another moron Secretary of Defense.

Song Of The Day: The Coasters - Down In Mexico

I’m more a fan of the movie Death Proof than the song. Hey, Quentin Tarantino makes good movies in my opinion…

Why the song Down In Mexico by The Coasters? So I could share video footage of Vanessa Ferlito performing a sexy lap dance–why else? Check out her website if you like what you see.

You wouldn\'t kick her out of bed for eating crackers either, would you?

A special thanks to the lady who has my errant mind wandering about in this general direction this morning. This Song Of The Day is for you.

Thought Roundup: May 9

I’ve been a bit busy the past few days but wanted to update with some things that have been on my mind lately.

1. Blogging is good group therapy. No really, it’s apparently true!

2. More jack-booted police thuggery. The excuse the Philadelphia police are making for such behavior is a lot of crap and whining. 12 hour shifts and 3 officers shot in three years is your weak excuse for such behavior? Sorry, I’m not buying that.

Why do we need police then? Hell, if lynching and simply gunning down people (like the Bell case in New York) is the best we can expect from police, we don’t really need them at all. We the People can form our own mobs and do the same. Why waste money on law enforcement and government that keeps trampling on our liberties, abusing We the People, and creating for-profit jails and prisons that are only profiting a few individuals while creating the world’s largest incarcerated population?

If you can’t handle the stress, get the hell out and find a job your weak ass can handle. As I have been saying all along, there are an awful lot of police who want to play the tough-guy/badass role of soldier, but that cannot handle it. Contrast their whiny cop excuses with the reality soldiers are facing every day. 3 killed in 3 years? Get over yourselves already.

If it’s so rough, why not just let everyone go armed and disband all the police? You won’t hear me whining. I promise you, there would be far fewer criminals and we wouldn’t have to worry about MS-13 gang numbers on the increase.

3. Speaking of MS-13 gang numbers on the rise, The Atlantic really missed with this article by Matthew Quirk. It isn’t America’s policy that is causing anything. It’s the lack of effort, control, and ineffectual government by Central American nations and the complicity of Mexico and its government in criminal endeavors and the invasion of America that are at fault.

The author seems to suggest that we shouldn’t bother trying to control our borders or deporting drains on our society. Rather, we should give them room and board at American taxpayer expense.

Here’s an idea. How about we solve America’s unemployment problem by giving every unemployed American a job and a gun—and stationing them on the border? I bet you would see the fastest decrease in the size of MS-13, the fastest reduction of narcotics traffic, the quickest reduction in unemployment, the quickest boost to the American economy, and the most secure border in our history. Alas, nothing that makes sense or is practical is ever done in America.

We might offend all those MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers, terrorists, sex offenders and other illegal aliens who aren’t American citizens.

4. Middle Eastern armies are largely worthless and have been for centuries. They can’t fight major or pitched battles worth a damn—with the sole exception of Israel of course. They’re pretty good in the terrorist department, though.

Give them some explosives, some handy women and children and they will give you fits.

Someone explain to me the point of having an Army that does nothing, as the Lebanese army seems to do so well? The Lebanese army warned its unity was in jeopardy if the crisis that nation is in is not averted.

What unity is that? The unified we’re too scared to fight sort of unity? Or is it the we only fight Israelis sort of unity? Perhaps it is the we Muslim armies only wage war on infidels sort of unity?

If I were going to war and had to choose between taking a brigade from the Lebanese army and a truckload of armed Somalis, I would instead take Bobcat Goldthwait in his suggested VW beetle with a few bottles of MadDog.

We would kick so much more ass.

Song Of The Day: Sick Of It All - Step Down

Nothing like some old-school hardcore from NYC to get the blood pumping. One of my favorite bands, kicking out some slamming riffs with more energy than ten pep squads drowning in Red Bull. It’s also a hell of a lot of fun, this song.

Check out the Sick Of It All website and get acquainted with the band if you aren’t already. For two decades these guys have been at it, and they own the term hardcore.

And if you’re one of those silly people who is even dreaming about posting some stupid comment about the pits of today versus the ones of yesteryear or some such nonsense, forget it. If people aren’t getting knocked out by Jack Daniels bottles (You gotta admit, John—that was kinda funny!) and bodies aren’t flying about in your pits because you think such people are “ruining the art of pitting” or some other ridiculously lame sentiment, go whine to your Emo therapist at your Emo-core therapy group.

Never fear, though. If you’re Emo, it should be safe enough for you in the forums on the band’s website

Sabotage Of Presidential Hopefuls And Horse Racing

Does anyone else think that Obama and Clinton have been sabotaged by people close to them since their campaigns started? I honestly have to say I have never seen two more ineptly run campaigns in my 38 years.

With Friends Like That, Who Needs Enemies?

On Hillary’s side, you have Bill Clinton running off at the mouth, making chauvinistic comments, contradicting comments, disagreeing on policy issues, and in general not keeping his mouth shut when he should. Then there are her staffers and campaign workers who have engaged in they usual muck-raking and dirty politics, and her own trips to Fantasy Island…like the one where she dodged sniper fire on a visit to the Balkans.

On Barack’s side, you have the Reverend Wright with his racist statements. He just won’t go away and keep his mouth shut. If Obama loses the nomination, it will likely be because of Wright. How ironic that the first viable black candidate for President with a real chance of winning is getting sabotaged by another black man still living in the past, dragging down a younger man looking to move the nation forward. It’s even more ironic since it was the Democrat party that undid what anti-slavery progress had been made under the Missouri Compromise by passing the Kansas-Nebraska Act and the Compromise of 1850—and which was supported by northern and southern Democrats alike.

Push Until They Die: There Is Profit In Death

Horse racing. Must not forget that. Today’s Kentucky Derby took the life of yet another horse, Eight Belles. The filly broke both her front ankles and was euthanized on the track. You know, I like horses as much as the next person and we had horses while I was growing up. Given the chance, I would rather ride one than miss out on an opportunity to do so.

I understand wanting to demonstrate and take pride in the prowess of one’s animals—be they pets, livestock or family members. However, to push and punish animals so that humans can make money and gamble on them does not sit well with me. Horse racing needlessly imperils the health and lives of magnificent animals whom I would rather have around me than the majority of those people who go to wager on them and watch them (like Chelsea Clinton, who was there).

Don’t get me wrong, I think there are hobbies and sports and animal trials that are just fine—most in fact. Horse racing though, is something altogether different. It is rather like dog fighting, without the fighting but based on the same principle, to push an animal to its physical limits for the enjoyment of people and gambling. One component of sports is excelling and being the best you can be, but when you put that onto an animal without choice and who cannot voice their health or pain and push them until they break and die for entertainment and money, it is no longer sporting at all.

I call that shameful and think it seems abusive as well.

Celebrating World Press Freedom Day

Honestly, I’m totally underwhelmed by World Press Freedom Day—which at its heart certainly has good intentions. It’s just that every nation and society that seems to chime in about how wonderful the idea is, is only too willing to hypocritically forget about it once the day is over and continue planning to enjoy the Beijing Olympic games taking place in a country notorious for censoring Net access, silencing the press and voices of dissent.

Guy Berger wrote an interesting perspective piece on it over at the Mail & Guardian website. It’s worth a few minutes of reading and reflection.

Song Of The Day: Guano Apes - Open Your Eyes

Todays song is Open Your Eyes by Guano Apes. I used to set this song as the first in my playlist to wake me up in the morning (another good reason to have a Linux desktop), though I rotate songs through these days.

Sandra Nasic (who is Croatian and German) was a powerful vocalist and draped their songs with emotion—as well as in-your-face attitude. She is also incredibly sexy.

The German band truly rocked and I am saddened that they split up and went their separate ways. Still, the members have moved on with other projects and I hope they find as much success and have as much as they did in Guano Apes.

I hope you will enjoy the video…

Global Food Crisis Looming On Horizon

Global food shortages are just around the corner if something doesn’t change soon. Some people suggest we’re already in the midst of just such a crisis, while others are optimistic that any such crisis can be averted.

One thing is sure: whether global warming is naturally occurring, the result of human activity, or a combination of both—it is going to exacerbate the situation as weather patterns become increasingly unpredictable.

An additional consideration is that increasing deforestation and widespread adoption of industrial scale agriculture will lead to more desertification and loss of valuable micro-habitat that certain species need to survive. Here in America, species that thrive in edge-growth, such as quail for example, are finding their habitat shrinking. Similar things are happening on a global scale. These things, coupled with the water shortage that the world is predicted to face beginning at the middle of the century bodes ill for everyone.

However, steps are being taken to address these issues. In many developing nations, there are efforts underway to educate and train farmers in improved agriculture methods. Reducing and eventually eliminating slash and burn agriculture will help in some respects, yet much more needs to be done. In some nations, staple foods are undergoing substitution as food costs, population growth and exports outstrip the capacity for production.

The UN recently set up a food crisis task force to address the needs of the world’s starving at the direction of Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. An estimated 100 million are going without food right now and as the global population jumps from around 6.5 billion to an estimated 9 billion before the end of the century, a dire situation faces the world’s population if aggressive measures aren’t taken.

Wheat and rice prices are soaring. The price of rice in some places has doubled in the last six months. Wheat has risen by as much as 130%. Around the globe, labor unions and workers are protesting current global economic situations and the rising price of food.

Even here in America, land of plenty and amber waves of grain, there are concerns as people in the northeast part of the country have begun hoarding staples and other foods. Cooking oil, flour, rice and even grain stocks are being horded across the country. Rising gasoline prices aren’t helping things either.
