Police Threaten Woman For Calling Multiple Times Before Her Murder

February 18, 2008

Here is yet another example of why we don’t need more gun control laws in America: a young woman is killed after being told by police to stop calling to report the boyfriend who eventually murdered her. They threatened to arrest her if she kept calling, just two days before her murder.

This avoidable travesty happened in DeLand, Florida—whose police department has yet to respond to the allegations a month after the indcident.

We already have enough legislation that regulates guns. What we don’t have are law enforcement agencies enforcing existing laws—such as those already in force regarding firearms…and illegal immigration. If this young woman had a gun of her own, she could have saved her own life which the police apparently did not feel was worth protecting.

Instead, many people want us to believe that we should cede responsibility for our own welfare to that of a government that is turning into an unresponsive bureaucracy. How absurd is it to be threatened with arrest for reporting that someone is a threat to your life?

This sort of disgusting behavior by law enforcement is growing at an alarming rate. These days, you’re more likely to find them refusing help or saying their hands are tied than you are to find them helping. They are more eager to go about using tasers and running around with assault rifles so they can look like the guys in the military fighting our wars than they are to help protect and serve.

I have heard even veteran officers complain about how the younger generation are afraid to get into a tussle and that they are too taser and trigger happy. And of course, in the majority of instances where police shoot someone innocent (usually several officers and a hail of bullets are involved) they get away with it and at worst suffer a temporary suspension.

If you haven’t read about the shameful murder of Marine Sgt. Derek Hale in Delaware by police and their lies (to other law enforcement agencies even!) to cover it up, you should read about what exactly is becoming more common place in your country on a daily basis.

More and more law enforcement is about filling prisons so someone can make a buck and monitoring the nation’s citizens.

How sad that this young 17 year old woman repeatedly asked for help and was instead threatened by the very institution designed to protect her. If this sort of thing doesn’t highlight the need for people to be able to depend on themselves and not the government, I don’t know what could possibly make it any more apparent.

I find myself more and more disappointed in the direction of our nation every day.
