What the hell? Even Libya and Moammar Gadhafi are being targeted by Al Qaeda. When I read it, I laughed so hard I nearly died.

Which would be a shame. I want to be around to see how this plays out.

OK, melodramatics aside, I did laugh hard. How ironic and hilarious is it though, that the leader of a nation that had top billing as a state sponsor of terrorism for decades is now targeted by the same Islamic radicalism that he helped fuel?

Apparently, Gadhafi is now a tool of Western Crusaders. And Libya is a new Crusader base of operations, according to Qaeda second-in-command, al-Zawahiri.

I expect very soon that Al Qaeda will announce that Libya is playing host to the reconstituted Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon (Knights Templar for those unfamiliar with the order’s formal title).

Gadhafi is a guy who was for years the patron of the Abu Nidal Organization…the most notorious terrorist organization prior to 9/11. He just earned removal from the US State Department’s list of terrorist states after more than two decades at the top. Now, he will end up having to fight the Islamic terror machine he helped build.

Poor Moammar. This on top of his fizzled attempt at negotiating peace in Darfur’s conflict is likely to give him indigestion—or worse. How long will it be until Libyan officials are being kidnapped and beheaded? How long until the first attempt on his life?

Anyone giving odds?
