Update On Air Powered Cars

A while back I mentioned a unique car that had been designed and built in India, that runs on air power. It appears now the car is going into production, and is slated to make appearances in at least 12 different countries.

The bad news is that it will not be making an appearance in America. The construction of the vehicle and its performance in crash tests are likely to keep it out of the American market.

That’s a shame, because this is an idea whose time has come…

Of Novellas And Novelettes

For some reason my mind has been on novellas and novelettes recently. OK, I know why. I occasionally despair of ever getting a full-length novel written.

Which is part of the reason I blog.

When I start despairing, I cleverly try to convince myself that perhaps it is not meant to be a novel. Perhaps it is meant to be something else?

Still, a lot of the stories I have been dabbling with are simply not the kind to be told in a novel. Some are pushing well past short story length. The fact I have several in the works and have not finished them is—in part—ascribable to having focused my reading and learning of the craft on the short story form and novel.

Duly noting my lack of extensive reading and research on the craft of the two lengths/forms, I thought I would see what interesting things I could turn up online. I thought I would share the fruits of my labors with you…

“Good Riddance Attention Whore” (I Could Not Agree More)

Cindy Sheehan has shown herself to be what we knew she was all along. The title of her ‘goodbye peace movement’ letter suggests a good autobiographical description.

She also showed herself to be two things her son was not—a quitter and a fair-weather fighter.

That’s the difference between a disrespectful, selfish, hollow person who believes in nothing except a desire to gain popularity and someone heroic who believes in something that they would give their life fighting for. One gave everything for his country, the other only gave so long as she could live off the money that heroic young soldier left her to fund her free ride.

Some people actually understand sacrifice and fighting for a cause. Some…

Well, I will just close with Cindy Sheehan’s own words…

Contra Cafe, Che-Mart, And The People’s Cube

I happened across the following sites, and thought I would share them. Mostly, they’re good for a laugh.

Check out The People’s Cube for all your communist, socialist, fascist and other related indoctrination needs! My favorite section of the site was the Ask Hillary feature.

Che-Mart is the home of the world’s best dead t-shirt salesman, Che Gueverra. Maybe he isn’t really dead, though? Is it possible he’s really alive and dabbling in capitalism? Don’t forget to check out the ACLU/Zawahiri sponsored Jihadists Against Bag Searches campaign. (Note, you can also check out the Club Gitmo ads on the same page: “Al Jazeera in every room!”)

Last, but best of all…

Check out Contra Cafe. They supply coffee grown by former Contra rebels in the highlands of Nicaragua. I wonder if Ollie North drinks this?

President Bush And His Memorial Day Insult To Veterans

George Bush, President of America, wants to give America away to illegal aliens. He wants us all to believe the only way immigration can be enforced is by legalizing illegal aliens and offering amnesty instead of acting like a leader and sending troops or more law enforcement to our borders.

Or, making the Mexican government actually do its job.

Today, Bush had this to say about those of us who don’t want the bill passed:

“If you want to kill the bill, if you don’t want to do what’s right for America…”

— George W. Bush, President, United States of America

Where he praised patriots yesterday, today he insults us…

Wanderlust And The Sea

Drinking some coffee and letting my mind wander after having finished up a book on sailing, I started browsing some portals offering sailboats for sale. I thought I would share a couple of the sites I found, just in case anyone else out there is having similar thoughts.

Of course, I have to throw in an anecdotal tie-in, so I’ve included an account of why I am writing and reading about sailing. It ought to be good for a laugh…

Want BloggingCareers.com?

I have a domain I am considering let go. I have many other projects going on that keep me from making use of it and have put my plans for developing it on hold. While I may still do so, it has moved to ‘on the back-burner’ status.

The right offer might land you a great home for a portal, site or commercial blog. You can find more details here: BloggingCareers.com listed with Sedo

Make A Stirling Engine With Soda Cans

I happened across this fantastic article on building a homemade Stirling engine and thought it would be a great link to share. Complete plans for building your own working Stirling engine with a few soft drink cans, wire coat hanger, a washer, a balloon, an old CD and some other odds and ends:

SFA Stirling Engine Project (from Stephen F. Austin State University, TX)

This would be a great project for showing both kids and adults how this type of engine works. I’m going to try and get one going myself! There are lots of good video clips on the site as well.

What a brilliant and simple little design.

The Greatest Boxer Of All Time Is?

Whether you agree or disagree with the list, you know you want to read it. If for no other reason than to argue with someone else about it. I disagreed with several choices that made a list of the 50 Greatest Fighters on ESPN.

But it was a good list to see, regardless. Make sure you check it out.

The Mexican Threat To America (Terrorists, Drug Cartels, Russia, Cuba, And Red Dawn)

A newspaper in Mexico’s northwestern state of Sonora had to shut down because of threats from criminals (drug dealers) after someone tossed a grenade through its office windows. Threats against employees continued, and they were left with no choice, as the Mexican government has been unable to curb violence in Sonora.

Various news media groups are saying that only Iraq is more dangerous to journalists.

What is surprising about that? Not a lot. But consider other factors, and what you get is a picture of Mexico as the staging ground for concerted attacks on American sovereignty, our economy, and our way of life.

WARNING: This post mentions Patrick Swayze. Don’t say I didn’t warn you…

More Tough Measures On Illegals In Oklahoma, And Calls For White Genocide

Oklahoma Governor, Brad Henry, signed HR 1804 last week—which is now probably the toughest measures taken by a state on illegal immigration. However, it is only the beginning.

The Tulsa City Council will consider a resolution today that will require anyone charged with a felony to prove their citizenship. Democratic Mayor, Kathy Taylor, said the measure will put a strain on the Tulsa police force, but that it is necessary.

“It’s frustrating that once again municipal governments are left on the front lines without the support that we need at the federal level.”

Tulsa Mayor, Kathy Taylor - Democrat

But that’s nothing. Check out an activist’s calls for killing off all white people…

Democracy Gone Wild? Belgian Politics Really Blows!

The “leading NEE party senate candidate in Belgium” knows how to get votes. She’s going to give everyone that votes for her a free blowjob.

Well, not everyone, and not just those who vote for her. She will just give 40,000 of them. And, her party will foot the bill so she can travel wherever she needs to go to deliver the goods. Almost sounds like a drunken Democracy Gone Wild video filmed at spring break somewhere.

However, this is real hardcore politics—not porn.

Belgian politics apparently gets people aroused (yeah, yeah, easy pun, I know…). Take a look at the sort of ads it produces:

That is not a real angel, is it?
