Take a look…
Using babies and kids as weapons…
Wolf Blitzer and people who have nothing better to do than make a political issue out of someone’s baby sicken me. That’s just like people who use kids as weapons to hurt the other parent when going through a divorce—utterly despicable and shameless.
Politicians love to f*ck people over…
San Francisco’s mayor is sorry. Indeed, he is. But he won’t step down and do the honorable thing, because—like most politicians, he is power hungry, greedy, immoral, and uncaring. Nobody has the guts to do the hard but decent thing and punish themselves for their actions; we have no desire it seems, but to suffer insults and disgrace to the notion that we’re an enlightened society by letting such pathetic wretches lead us.
Democrats eager to facilitate and revive big business scandals…
Democrats want to ease compliance rules related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. It seems we’d rather keep IPO’s on Wall Street at any cost, rather than encourage honest business practices and protect employees and investors. What the hell? I mean really, if an IPO won’t go public in America because VC’s don’t believe they’ll pan out in the first place or because they can’t be bothered to make sure the company is professional and a legitimate investment to begin with, do we even really want those IPO’s launching? Let them go overseas. Those doing so are the same kinds of people who would rather outsource American jobs anyway.
Microsoft’s new patent application for a crippled OS out of the box…
Microsoft is applying for a new patent on an operating system that is crippled right out of the box. Little to no functionality that you would then pay to upgrade piecemeal, choosing features you wanted. It will use DRM to make sure you’re not in control of your experience either. If you can’t see the writing on the wall with the changes Microsoft keeps adding to their OS’s, you’re blind. Soon, you will have no options, no choices, and you’ll regret it because you’ll have to use only Microsoft formats and proprietary systems that leave you no choice. Switch to Linux before you find yourself miserable and having no control.
North Korea helps Iran put satellites in space. Nuclear capabilities lining up for apocalypse…
Iran has nothing but peaceful intentions. We all know this from Ahmadinejad’s peace-filled love poems to Israel. It’s time to wake the hell up. Iran is preparing a serious nuclear capability that will threaten more than the Middle East. And North Korea is helping them. The Apocalypse can’t be far behind.
Millions to go hungry, billions without water. New report out…
A new report just released the other day paints a pretty gloomy picture of what lies ahead in the next century thanks to global warming. 1-3 billion people will face water shortages, 200-600 million going hungry, 7 million losing homes to rising sea levels. Don’t you feel good about driving around in your pollutant spewing device now? I hope we don’t forget the need to work on our water issues while we’re developing electric cars.
Your own private Wi-Fi network community without hardware…
It’s like magic. You’ll be able to create Wi-Fi communities by just downloading software, and in no time at all, you and whomever you allow will have access to your network for chatting, IMing, and all the other fun stuff. No need to worry about needing new hardware and complex encryption and configuration either. They just download software by Swisher and you add them to a buddy list of sorts. Simple, yet full of wow-factor.
Blackboard will have its eLearning patent re-examined…
In a move that may lead to the overturn of the eLearning patent held by Blackboard, the US Patent and Trademark Office will re-examine claims by competitors that would like the scope of the patent narrowed at least. This could be a big boon for the Open Source movement. It might also be a huge boon to smaller colleges and universities by opening up the field and presenting more choices for distance education solutions. This bit of news isn’t getting much attention, but it may well have an effect on all future college students.
