Microsoft Vista Breaks European Union Law, Still Sucks

January 27, 2007

Microsoft Corp’s practices are slowly catching up to them. Earnings are down, Vista has met with all kinds of delay, and now the company is being sued.

It’s about time other software companies started attacking Microsoft. What’s the latest uproar over? The future of many operating systems, the Internet, and how you are able to choose your media experience.

This isn’t a joke. If you are wondering why so many people hate Microsoft with a passion, just read on.

Microsoft Doesn’t Want You To Have Choices

They only want you to use their media player, which still sucks. They don’t you to be able to use Real Audio, which is far superior in my opinion to the Windows Media Video format. They don’t want you to use anything but their Windows Media Audio; they’d love nothing better than to kill off MP3’s and Ogg Vorbis formats.

Microsoft wants their proprietary formats to be the only choice you have.

What gall. See more about the companies that are brave enough to stand up to Microsoft and go for the throat!

Some of the biggest names in the computing world are finally standing up for you, the computer user.

Microsoft To Stamp Out HTML, Replace With Proprietary XAML

Microsoft thinks you shouldn’t be able to write HTML code, so they are replacing HTML with XAML, a proprietary language of their own devising. Unless you use a Windows system you won’t be able to use it.

Whatever.

Their egos know no bounds in Redmond. Now is the time to jump ship and try Linux which is so much more stable and secure than Windows. It’s easier than ever, and you need to do it before you waste money on yet another upgrade which will dictate how you can enjoy your media experience and how you can write for the web

Microsoft Broke The Law

They’ve already been found guilty of breaking the law once in the EU, back in 2004. Their practices are discriminatory; their operating systems are buggy, unstable and prone to security holes. Why stick with it any longer and put yourself through misery?

You Can Run Windows Apps In Linux, Migrate Now!

Take control of your computing future and get away from a dependence on Microsoft today!

Any must have applications you need can probably run quite easily on Linux these days thanks to goodies like Codeweavers Crossover, VMWare, Win4Lin, Wine and varius emulators.

Last But Not Least: Vista Sucks

Extremely popular tech site, CNET.com didn’t have much to say about Vista, which is surprising as they have become in the past several years very pro-Windows. Here’s what they said:

The bottom line: Windows Vista Home Basic is essentially warmed-over Windows XP, Windows XP SP3. If you’re currently happy with Windows XP SP2, we see no compelling reason to upgrade. On the other hand, if you need a new computer right now, Windows Vista is stable enough for everyday use.

(Source: CNET.com)

Stable enough for everyday use. What an unglorious statement. If stability is the only reason to choose your operating system, choose Linux or BSD. Servers running those operating systems have gone years without a reboot. You’re lucky if you don’t have to reboot Windows daily.

And on top of everything else that the proponents of no choice in Redmond have against them, Vista Sucks.

    Vista doesn’t suck… IT BLOWS!

  • 4. John  |  February 8, 2007 at 8:26 am

I’m pulling my hair out over this one. I was one of the fools who blindly upgraded to Windows Vista. Now I’m having all kinds of problems viewing streaming videos damnit.

I can no longer view videos from http://www.dailymotion.com nor freepornvideos69.com (NSFW).

But I can still view videos on YouTube? WTF?

Does anyone have the same problem as I, and was able to figure out a fix?

The dailymotion I get used to, but I can’t live without my porn!

    Thanks.

    pasted from the BOFH ( http://www.theregister.com/odds/bofh )

    “So you like Vista?”

“Not really, no. I run a Vista simulator.”

    “Virtual Server?” the Boss asks.

“Nah, I just turned on all the flashy crap in XP, changed the background image, took some memory out of my box and clocked down the CPU. Then broke Media player. Works like a charm.”

    “So you don’t like it?”

“No. But it has does have one advantage.”

    “What’s that?”

“It causes a clean reinstall of XP which is generally good from a defrag point of view.”

Thanks for stopping by to comment, everyone. Love the Vista simulator, lol. I’ll remember to tell that to everyone I meet.

Vista the same as Windows itself sucks, because its very unstable. I do not reccommend this software, unless you want to reinstall every 5 months and fight with something is not working and catch up viruses.

  • 9. Shawn  |  March 4, 2008 at 1:08 pm

This article blows, you all are fucking idiots seriously. I doubt any of you have actually used Vista, it’s faster, more secure and I have very few problems with it, had it since march 2007 and never had to reinstall and never had a virus, go suck a nut you stupid fucking linux tards.

  • 10. Sean Wilson  |  March 4, 2008 at 4:32 pm

Actually, I have used Vista, and in fact I’m working on a notebook for a client that has it on it. It’s brand new and has problems already. Already the owner wants to wipe Vista off and replace it with XP.

And that’s one of many examples I can give you of unsatisfied Vista users. There’s a reason business and corporate users haven’t rushed to adapt it–it sucks.

Vista is faster and more secure and has very few problems…? Compared to what? Were you using a calculator before? Put even another Windows OS on a Vista machine and you can easily see improvements when benchmarking.

I doubt a fucking Vista tard like you knows what benchmarking even is.

After all, even Microsoft itself said it dropped the ball with Vista. I mean, if they admit it sucks, maybe it’s just that you like sucking?

And there’s far more to choose from than just hundreds of Linux distros. Macs are great, desktops are coming along under many other OS—such as FreeBSD, PCBSD, DesktopBSD…to point out just one branch of the open source ‘Nix family.

Perhaps if you didn’t need an OS that asks you repeatedly if you meant to do something you would enjoy Linux. Millions of people do.
